No One Is Illegal Radio (March 2009)

No One Is Illegal Radio reports about the frontline struggles for justice, dignity and self-determination by migrants, refugees and indigenous peoples.

The March 2009 edition of No One Is Illegal Radio is part of Israeli Apartheid Week in Montreal. The show includes interviews with three Palestinian activists and commentators based in Jerusalem, the Gaza Strip, and Toronto: Jamal Juma, Rami Almeghari and Rafeef Ziadah.

JAMAL JUMA (23:07)
Jamal is the coordinator of the Palestinian Grassroots Anti-Apartheid Wall Campaign, based in East Jerusalem. In this interview, Jamal addresses how to build the growing Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions (BDS) campaign, linking the BDS campaign tangibly to other struggles for social justice, the origins of the BDS campaign prior to it's official in 2005, as well as Israeli Apartheid Week activities in Palestine itself.

RAMI ALMEGHARI (24:57)
Rami is a Palestinian journalist based in Gaza, and a frequent contributor to the Electronic Intifada. Rami addresses the current situation in the Gaza Strip as Palestinians rebuild from Israel's recent attack, the impunity of Israeli decision-makers, the complicity between Egypt and Israel in preventing the free movement of Palestinians, as well as an analysis of the current political situation in Palestine

RAFEEF ZIADAH (14:22)
Rafeef is an organizer with the Coalition Against Israeli Apartheid (CAIA) and a third-generation Palestinian refugee based in Toronto. In this interview, Rafeef addresses the growth of Israeli Apartheid Week since its inception in 2005, the attacks on Palestinian solidarity organizing at York University and other campuses, feminist resistance to Israeli Apartheid, as well as the use of the term apartheid itself.
